Types of Free Printable French Worksheets for High School Students

There are several types of free printable French worksheets. Worksheets may be found on numerous websites, mixed in with other worksheets for elementary and middle school students. Other worksheets are part of a complete lesson plan or activity posted by teachers in the United States and the United Kingdom. Still other free worksheets are simple, stand-alone worksheets posted by teachers to share with other teachers.

You’ll find free worksheets online in the following formats:

  • Adobe Acrobat PDF: Adobe Acrobat PDF files are the standard for posting documents and sharing them across both Mac and PC platforms. Most people already have the Adobe Acrobat program to read and print documents on their computers, but if you need it you can download it free.
  • Microsoft Word Documents: Many free worksheets, especially those shared by French teachers, are in Microsoft Word, a word processing program. If you do not have Microsoft Word, you may not be able to download and read them. Luckily, the majority of personal computers, especially those found at high schools, have at least some version of Microsoft Word on them. If your school uses Macs, you can also check the local public library for free PC access. Many libraries have a bank of computers. You can sign out time, download and print what you need. Some charge a minimal fee to pay for printer use
  • Microsoft PowerPoint: Occasionally you’ll find the odd French worksheet created in Microsoft PowerPoint. This is a program that allows users to create slide show presentations. The presentations can be shown on a computer screen, broadcast like a movie or static transparencies at the front of the classroom, or printed. Most worksheets in this format are created as part of a comprehensive lesson plan that a teacher has chosen to share.
